Certificate II in Building Construction

About the Course:

Building & Construction Certificate II is an appliedlearning course available to Year 10 & 11 students.

The course will be run on campus at Drouin Secondary College, on Wednesdays or Fridays. The course provides participants with basic skills in building and construction.

Completion of the course will:

  • Enhance employment opportunities
  • Provide a pathway to apprenticeship and the study of Certificate III in Building & Construction.

Course Aims:

The 2 year course provides participants with the knowledge and skills that will enhance employment prospects in the Building and Construction industry. (2nd year AGA)

  • Apprenticeships including:
  • Cert III in General Construction(carpentry)
  • Cert III in General Construction(bricklaying)
  • Cert III in General Construction(painting & decorating)
  • Diploma of Building

UNIVERSITY:

  • Building Engineering
  • Building Surveying
  • Architecture, Interior Design
  • Civil Engineering

GENERAL CAREER:

  • Carpenter, Builder, Bricklayer
  • Cabinet Maker
  • Building site Administration,
  • Foremanship, Estimation
  • Building Inspection
  • Building Surveyor
  • Building services, Drafting

Transport arrangements: Student responsibility
Clothing/Equipment: Students must purchase a Building
Construction work book (approx. $50) Students must wear a fluoro yellow or orange top, work pants and workboots.
